The Post Office in Creeslough has being in the Lafferty Family for over a 100 years Grace Lafferty (Cannon) is the Postmistress, Ann Lafferty (Ryan) is the Sub-Postmistress in Creeslough. Grace Lafferty took over from her brother Danny Lafferty.  Danny Lafferty took over from his mother Agnes Lafferty.  Agnes Lafferty taking over from her husband Pat Lafferty. Pat Lafferty Taking over from his mother Mrs Lafferty. Mrs Lafferty taking over from her huaband Danny Lafferty. Danny Lafferty being the first Postmaster in Creeslough in1922 when the new state was formed. Edward Lafferty had a Posting House in Creeslough the 1800's  Danny Martin Lafferty the Postmaster in waiting


The Irish Post Office was setup in 1784 under the British as can be seen from the post box on the left  the crown is clearly visable cover with a coat of green paint. The second post box of a later vintage and has being  cast with P& T  on it.

After Independen in 1922 The Department of Post and Telegraphs was set up.

 In 1984 The Department of Post and Telegraphs was split  and became two semi-state companys An Poist and Telecom Eireann .

 
   The Postman 

Patrick Mc Ginley  from Umrafad is the Postman for the Creeslough Area. He has being the poatman in Creeslough for 12 years before that he served in Falcarragh for 18 years and spent 2 years in Glen starting in 1976.
List of Postmen in decending order Patrick McGinley. Nial Griffith. Charley Moore. Michael McCaffrey and Jim McCaffrey (father of Michael McCaffrey). Pre 1977 there were three postmen in Creeslough Jim McCaffrey Paddy (Mick) McLaughlin and Hugh Frances Hunter in Ballmore at the monent their is only one postman. Now their must be five times as much mail and ten times more houses.
