The Irish Post Office was setup in 1784 under the British as can be
seen from the post box on the left the crown is clearly visable cover
with a coat of green paint. The second post box of a later vintage
and has being cast with P& T on it.
After
Independen in 1922 The Department of Post and Telegraphs was set up.
In
1984 The Department of Post and Telegraphs was split and became
two semi-state companys An Poist and Telecom Eireann .
The Postman
Patrick Mc Ginley from Umrafad is the Postman for
the Creeslough Area. He has being the poatman in Creeslough for 12 years before that he served in Falcarragh for
18 years and spent 2 years in Glen starting in 1976.

Pre 1977 there were three postmen in Creeslough Jim McCaffrey Paddy (Mick) McLaughlin and Hugh Frances Hunter in Ballmore at the monent
their is only one postman. Now their must be five times as much mail and
ten times more houses.
