2004/11/1 - THE P&T TWELVE
(or Paddy Henrey's Wanes)
In 1963 twelve men
joined what was then the P&T. (or the Post Office Engineeting Branch)
The P&T split in 1984 and became two semi-state companys An Poist and
Telecom Eireann . Telecom Eireann went on to become Eircom in 1999.
In total between them Paddy Henrey's wanes clocked up 436 years and still
counting.

2004/9/19 - GAELIC PARK NEW YORK
On Sunday 19th September 2004 in Gaelic Park New York under the watchful
eye of Donegal Senior Team Manager Brian Mc Eniff and
the Molloy brothers.
Kerry went on to beat Leitrim in the Senior
"A" Football Championship Semi-final. James Mc Fadden formerly
of St.Michael's GAA lined out at fullback for Leitrim. Perhaps Mc
Eniff was scouting for new talent to fill the number 3 jersey for
Donegal.
Seamus Sweeney and Mark Sheridan from Creeslough were seen to be bending
Mc Eniff,s ear.
Earlier in the day Mayo bet Offaly in the Senior "B" Football Final
and collected the Denis P. Mc Hugh Memorial Cup.

Mark Anthony McGinley from Ards
Creeslough who has being capped for Ireland U15 Soccer and had a trial
with Cardiff City an English League side. Mark Anthony is a goalkeeper
for St. Michaels GAA and Glenree Utd Soccer.

2004/7/1- Donegal U16 Ladies. Last
Month Donegal U16 Ladies reached the All Ireland Final by defeating Galway
at Markevicz Park in Sligo. Bridget Gallagher from St. Micheal's playing
at midfield and scored 1 - 3. The final score

2004/6/11 - Three ELECTIONS
(1) European Parliment. (2)
Elections to the Donegal County Council. (3) Elections to amend the
Constitition.
Donegal County Council Election - one
Creeslough man steps in as one Creeslough man steps out. Ian
Campbell is standing as a Fine Gael canditate for the first time in the
Glenties Electorol Area which now includes the Creeslough area.
While long serving 33 years a Fianna Fail Counciller, Noel Mc Ginley is
retiring from the Milford Electoral Area having lost his hinderland of
Creeslough which was originaly in the Milford Electoral Area.

2004/5/23 Parish League Finals.
On Sunday 23rd. May at the Bridge in Dunfanaghy at 1:30 pm. The
band led all the teams on th the field for the 10th Parish League Finals.

ENLARGEMENT
On Saturday 1st May 2004 ten new countries
joined the EU. Brining the total to twenty-five countries. An Taoiseach of
Ireland Bertie Ahern is EU. President, so Dublin is hosting the party for
the enlargement. All ten new countries are twinned with towns and cities
all over the country. Letterkenny Co Donegal is twinned with Poland.
The ten new country’s are: Austria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia,
Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia. The existing
fifteen country’s are: Belgium, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany,
Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands,
Portugal, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom.
Not in the EU. Switzerland, Norway, Russia or the part of Russia which is
land locked between Lithuania and Poland or the Turkish Cypriot controlled
part of Cyprus.

- CREESLOUGH POST REPORTER's WEDDING
Nuptical Mass was concelebrated
in Ards Friary, Creeslough on the 27th March 2004 by Fr. Pat Brady
Rome/USA cousin of the bride, Fr. Mark Coyle OFM,Cap. Ards Friary and
Fr. Joseph Briody CC. Creeslough. at the Marriage of Mairead
Sheridan daughter of Dan and Catherine Sheridan Ballyboes, Creeslough to
Peter Collett son of Alan and Jill Collett Swindon, England.
The bride was given away by her father Dan. The
bridesmaids were Mairead's two sisters Joan Sheridan and Linda Grant and
the bestman was Peter's friend John Cooper. The flower girls were Lucy
Martin and Emily Hyner nieces of the groom and the pageboys were Mathew
and Anthony Grant nephews of the bride. The organist was Fr. Fidelis
OFM,Cap Ards Friary and Alison Collett sang "Our Lady of Knock"
while Peter and Mairead made a dedication to Our Lady. The photographer
was James Gallagher Letterkenny and the videographer was Eugene Quigley
Derry.
The reception was held in the Ostan Loch Altan Gortahork
. The honeymoon will be two weeks in Croatia. Mairead and Peter will
be living in Cardiff; perhaps this will be our first overseas
correspondent.

Three St. Michael's men on the pannel Brian Mc Laughlin,
Christy Toye and Colm Antony Mc Fadden all three started in the first
round of the Championship.

JANUARY
2004/1/1 - NO NEWS AT THROAT LAKE
The book "No News at Throat Lake" by Lawrence
Donegan about his time spent in Creeslough and with the Tirconaill Tribune
may make it on to the TV Screen. BBC Northern Ireland have signed a
contract with Donegan last month.
