APRIL
2005/April/22
- The Creeslough Connection.
Ann
Lafferty and her sister Bridie had planned to go on the Raphoe Pilgrimage
to Lourdes so she made arraignments for John Mc Ginley’s bus to collect
her at the 'corner of the garden' in Creeslough. Ann was working late in
the Corncutters on Saterday night on her way home she noticed two buses
stopped at the 'corner of the garden'. Suddenly she realised that it was
now 4 am on Sunday and that they were waiting for her. She told them
to go without her.
Back in the house very dissappointed she figured all was not lost, rang
her daughter Agnes and her husband Bernard Mc Ginley who were on hand in
minutes from their Summer residence in Killoughcarron. The packing was
quick and they landed in Belfast International Airport just ahead of John
Mc Ginley's Bus with the rest of the pilgrims. In Lourdes Bishop
Boyce who was leading the Raphoe pilgrimage was asking all the
people on the pilgrimage to pray for the two Creeslough women who missed
the bus unaware of the full story until he reached Ann's table.
