DECEMBER

2006/12/18 - THE AUSIE's are BACK  Thomas Hunter and Denis Sheridan from Ballyboes and Sean Boyle from Feymore are back from Australia where they were working on construction for the last year. They were living in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Cost, Queensland. Last July they went on tour with Michael Cox Ards (RIP) who was on a visit to Australia

NOVEMBER 

2006/11/20 A Muckish Report

For the first time this year 20th of November, Muckish is white with snow which lasted for three days, and the weather is cold and wet. Last year on the same date Muckish had it first snow.

OCTOBER

2006/10/1 - GAA. Senior Football Championship

St. Michaels Team Reached  Seni-final of the Donegal Senior Football Championship for the firsr time and were unlucky to loose  to St. Eunans by two points.

Semi Final:    St Michaels 1-8,   St. Eunans    1-10  W/E. 01/10/2006 in Ballybofey
Quater Final: St Michaels 0-13, Naomh Conall 0-12, W/E. 10/09/2006 in Letterkenny.
1st round decid: St Michaels 0-17, Glenswilly  1-11; W/E. 02/09/2006 in Letterkenny.
1st round away: St Michaels 1-13, Glenswilly  0-11;  W/E. 27/08/2006 in Glenswilly.
1st round home: St Michaels 1-06, Glenswilly 1-16;   W/E. 15/05/2006 in Dunfanaghy.

The St. Michaels Senior Reserve Team lost out to Glenswilly in the first round of the Championship  0-10 to 1-9 & 0-8 to 2-4.

The St. Michaels Third Team competed in the Junior B Championship losing out to Kilcar 0-9 to 1-11& 1-6 to 3-5.

2006/10/20 - Traffic Lights in Creeslough There was two sets of traffic lights in Creeslough this week between the corner of the garden an the Ballyboes road. It would seem that they are digging up the street for the last three month. First it was Charles Roarty redoing the sewer. Then: Surface Water, Mains Water, ESB Lights, Eircom Cables and Traffic Calming where the Donegal Co. Co. put the pavements out in the middle of the road.

SEPTEMBER 

2006/9/24 - The 36th Ryder Cup 

The Golf Classic held for the first time in Ireland at the K. Club Co. Kildare. With Paul McGinley the St. Michael's man, Padraig Harrington and Darren Clarke making up three Irishmen on the European Team. Europe beating  USA. by 18 1/2 to 9 1/2 points.

2006/8/1 - CREESLOUGH OAR.

Mary Claire Sheridan Drumeason Won The All Ireland National Rowing Championships held at National University Ireland (NUI) Galway.

 

JULY  (Luil)

2006/7/9 - GAA. Three Creeslough Boys in Croke Park

  1.  Christy Toye (10) Captain led the Donegal Senior team on Croke Park in the Ulster Final against Armagh. Donegal 0 - 9  Armagh 1 - 9. Cristy scored 0 -1.

  2. Martin McElhinney (10) on the Donegal Minor team on Croke Park in the ESB. Ulster Final against Antrim.   Donegal 2 - 12 Antrim 1 - 5. Martin scored 2 - 1.

  3. Peter Sweeney (1) Glassan NS, on the Donegal mini team on Croke Park Cumann na mBunscol. Donegal 1 - 1 Armagh 1 - 1.

 

JUNE

2006/6/15 -  PROPERTY  MONTHLY

2006/5/01 - Three Funerals in St. Michael's Church Creeslough

Danny  Gallagher Aged 83 Drumnacarry.  Mourned by his brothers Paddy, John. his sisters Mary and his many nieces & nephews. Mass was celebrated at 11a.m. by Fr. Briody.  Interment in Doe Graveyard.

John Gallagher Aged 86 Glasgow and Craig.  Brother of the late Frances, mourned by nices Mary & Sadie. Mass was celerbrated at 1.p.m.  by Fr. Briody.  Interment in Doe Graveyard.

Jack McGarvey Aged 84 Derryart.  Mourned by his brothers Mick & Paul and sister Theresa and his many nieces & nephews.  Mass was concelerbrated at 4 p.m. by  his nephew Fr. McGarvey, Fr. Briody, Fr. Silke, Fr. Sweeney, Fr. Mark,O.F.M.,Cap.  Interment in Doe Graveyard.

APRIL

2006/4/17 -  CREESLOUGH MACRAME  

Creeslough Macrame Officially opened by  Sr. Margaret Mc Fadden. Proprititor,s Peggie Mc Ginley. Susan Sheridan.  Marie Duffy.

 2006/3/26 - 4th International Pro-Life & Family Conference

Sean Gibbons lead a delegation from Creeslough to the 4th International Pro-Life & Family Conference held in Dublin, over three days 24th 25th 26th March. FEBRUARY 

2006/2/24 - CAB. in Creeslough.

The Criminal Assets Bureau auctioned property in Creeslough and Faugher belonging to Sean Dunne the missing Dublin Businessman. The house at Magheroraty, Creeslough on a one acre site with four en-suite bedrooms, Gym, Sauna and Jacuzzi went for €360,000. The five houses on four acres with planning permission for a two storey house at Faugher went for €750,000 

JANUARY 

2006/1/10 - Australia

Danny Neddie(McGinley) Killoughcarron  was back home on his bi-annual trip from Australia as was John Tague (McFadden) Killoughcarron at the same time. Danny and John immigrated at the same time  from London to Australia where they were working 32 years ago.
